Tech Mahindra announced that it has partnered with Perplexity to embed AI-powered intelligence across its sales organization, using Perplexity Enterprise Pro to give sales and customer-facing teams faster access to trusted, source-backed information. The goal is to improve customer research, sharpen sales conversations and reduce the time employees spend looking for relevant business, industry and technology insights.
Perplexity Enterprise Pro will be deployed across Tech Mahindra’s sales and customer-facing teams, including customer partners and senior sales leaders. The platform is intended to help teams research customer priorities, understand industry-specific challenges, identify emerging opportunities and explore how technology can support digital transformation for clients.
Tech Mahindra said the setup is a way to put AI-powered search and answer capabilities into day-to-day sales work so teams can get real-time, source-backed responses instead of starting each customer conversation from scratch.
Sales teams usually spend a large part of their time pulling together background on a customer, an industry, a product category or a competitor. Tech Mahindra is trying to compress that research cycle by placing an AI layer inside the sales workflow itself. In the company’s wording, the aim is to help teams “better understand customer priorities” and “engage with greater context.”
Companies are moving away from AI as a stand-alone chatbot and toward AI as a working layer inside business processes. In this case, the process is sales and account management. That is the real story behind the Perplexity deal.
