Wipro and Databricks Team Up to Transform Data Modernization and AI Delivery

Wipro announced a partnership with Databricks and set up a dedicated Databricks business practice designed to help enterprises modernise data systems and move AI projects into production at larger scale. It is an extension of an already established relationship built around data modernisation, analytics and AI delivery.

The new practice will combine Databricks capabilities in agentic AI, data modernisation, application development and analytics with Wipro Intelligence, Wipro’s AI-powered platform suite. It will also use Databricks Genie, which allows users to interact with enterprise data in natural language, alongside Wipro’s WEGA agent-native delivery platform.

“Our long-standing collaboration with Databricks reflects a shared commitment to help enterprises move from AI experimentation to measurable value,” said Kanwar Singh, Managing Partner – Technology Services, Wipro Limited. “The business practice will bring together platform specialists, consulting expertise, and industry teams to co-create solutions that accelerate data transformation and enterprise-wide AI adoption.”

Wipro said the goal is to help customers move from disjointed data estates and isolated AI pilots to governed, enterprise-scale AI deployments.

The first wave of AI activity created many pilots, proofs of concept and demo projects. The harder work is now in the plumbing: connecting legacy data, cleaning up governance, modernising pipelines and making AI systems reliable enough for day-to-day business use. Wipro’s announcement is aimed squarely at that second phase.

Wipro said the practice builds on more than 300 agentic AI and data use cases across banking and financial services, healthcare, telecom, manufacturing and energy. Wipro also describes itself as a Databricks Global Elite partner with experience across 300 use cases, 100+ implementations and support from more than 1,500 engineers and consultants.

This cooperation is meant to reduce the friction between having data and using it well. Databricks provides the platform layer. Wipro brings consulting, migration work, domain expertise and delivery capacity. The combination is designed to help companies modernise old data stacks, then build analytics and AI applications on top of them with more governance and less manual integration work.

Wipro is trying to move the conversation from AI experimentation to production delivery, and Databricks is the platform layer it is using to do that.
