Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Pearson have announced a multi-year partnership aimed at helping enterprises build future-ready workforces through AI-enabled learning and assessment. The announcement was made on March 18, 2026, and both companies said the collaboration is designed to combine learning, assessment, and cloud-led transformation at scale.
According to the companies, the partnership brings together Pearson’s enterprise learning and assessment expertise with TCS’ work in Contextual AI and its TCS iON digital learning and assessment platforms. The stated goal is to help organisations close skills gaps and create workforces that can adapt more quickly as job roles change under AI-driven transformation.
The announcement outlines four main areas of cooperation. First, the companies plan to explore ways to integrate learning, assessment, and skills intelligence into enterprise operating models. Second, they will co-develop and pilot AI-enabled learning products and services. Third, TCS will include Pearson’s Versant English proficiency assessment in its hiring and workforce development programs. Fourth, Pearson’s solutions will be integrated into the TCS iON platform to support skill benchmarking and certification.
Both companies framed the deal around workforce readiness rather than technology for its own sake. Pearson CEO Omar Abbosh said many organisations are investing heavily in AI but still struggle to show returns because employees need stronger skills and confidence to work with new systems. TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said long-term value will depend on how well enterprises help people work alongside intelligent systems while building adaptability and trust into their operating models.
The partnership also reflects a broader shift in enterprise technology strategy, where AI adoption is increasingly tied to training, assessment, and certification rather than software deployment alone. Pearson said the collaboration fits its approach of building deeper relationships with selected partners, while TCS said the agreement supports its focus on contextual AI, cloud transformation, and large-scale enterprise delivery.

The emphasis is on building learning systems that can be used across enterprises and governments as they adapt to changing skill requirements. Pearson also cited research suggesting that helping workers collaborate with AI, rather than replacing them, could create significant economic value in the U.S. by 2034.
