Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has introduced the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-X Series. The series features advanced industrial-grade processors designed for a range of applications, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), advanced Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), edge controllers, panel PCs, and box PCs.

The products in this series are built to withstand harsh operating conditions and come in a durable package. They offer extensive support for different peripherals, making integration with various industrial equipment simple and flexible for deployment across various applications.

Additionally, the IQ-X Series includes rich multimedia features in a power-efficient design.

Nakul Duggal, the Group General Manager for Automotive and Industrial & Embedded IoT at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., stated, “With the Dragonwing IQ-X Series, we’re bringing the best performance of the Qualcomm Oryon™ CPU to the center of the industrial PC. This development will contribute to creating smarter factories and more effective edge controllers on the factory floor.”

The Dragonwing IQ-X Series is designed to meet the challenging requirements of industrial OEMs and ODMs by delivering exceptional single and multithread computing performance.

It offers scalable configurations with 8 to 12 high-performance cores and up to 45 TOPS of AI performance. The series supports a temperature range suitable for industrial use (-40°C to 105°C), making it ideal for rugged environments.

Furthermore, the Dragonwing IQ-X Series accommodates industry-standard COM module form factors, allowing easy replacement on existing carrier boards, and includes an evaluation kit.

The platform also supports a variety of industry-leading software and applications on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, including Qt, CODESYS, EtherCAT, and other powerful tools that improve flexibility, performance, and integration across industrial applications.

Industrial solutions can now utilize the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI applications with the Qualcomm® AI Software Stack and common runtimes such as ONNX and PyTorch. The Dragonwing IQ-X Series provides the necessary AI infrastructure for automation in industrial settings, allowing for easier porting of AI models and application development for important tasks like predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and defect detection. With this series, industrial partners will have a solid foundation for deploying intelligent edge solutions at scale.

Finally, the Dragonwing IQ-X Series is designed for quick customization and scalability, making the design process for robust systems more straightforward. It helps lower the bill of materials by removing the need for separate AI or multimedia modules.
