Hitachi Launches BuilMirai Experience Center in India for Smart Building Technologies

Hitachi BuilMirai

Hitachi, along with Hitachi Lift India and GlobalLogic, has launched the BuilMirai Experience Center at GlobalLogic’s India headquarters in Noida. The center is meant to demonstrate its digital service BuilMirai, which is built around the next-generation smart building portfolio HMAX for Buildings.

Manish Sikka, Managing Director, Hitachi Lift India, “Hitachi Lift India plays a key role in India’s urban landscape by delivering high-quality vertical transportation solutions and lifecycle services that enhance safety, reliability, and customer experience. With strong local presence and deep domain expertise, supported by Hitachi’s global technology capabilities, we continue to meet the evolving needs of modern buildings and infrastructure.“

The new center is positioned as an innovation and customer engagement hub. Hitachi says it will be used to show how intelligent building technologies can improve energy efficiency, sustainability, operational visibility, occupant wellbeing and infrastructure performance through a unified building management platform.

The Hitachi BuilMirai Experience Center brings together 3 pieces of Hitachi’s building strategy: installed-base data from digitalized assets, Hitachi’s domain knowledge, and AI technologies. According to the company, that mix is intended to help building owners and operators manage facilities in a better connected way, with better use of data and fewer disconnected systems.

The plan is to use the facility as a place where engineering teams, customers, partners and industry stakeholders may work together on ideas and feedback.

What BuilMirai and HMAX for Buildings cover

BuilMirai is Hitachi’s digital service for smart building management. The center is built around HMAX for Buildings. The focus is on combining building data, AI and operational know-how into one platform.

Hitachi says the BuilMirai platform is meant to help with:

  • Energy management
  • Sustainability targets
  • Operational visibility
  • Occupant wellbeing
  • Infrastructure performance

It is aimed at commercial facilities, office buildings and wider infrastructure settings where owners want optimal management and better decision-making.

Piyush Jha, Group Vice President and Head, APAC, GlobalLogic, “India is rapidly emerging as a hub for intelligent infrastructure innovation, and we are growing as a nation. The BuilMirai Experience Center demonstrates how GlobalLogic’s digital engineering expertise, combined with Hitachi’s deep operational technology heritage, can help reimagine how buildings are designed, managed, and optimized. We are excited to support the development of solutions that address real-world challenges across commercial, residential, and urban infrastructure environments.”

Why India matters in this announcement

The company says the country is seeing swift urbanization and economic development, which is increasing demand for energy-saving and smart solutions across commercial buildings and infrastructure.

The Noida center is meant to connect that market opportunity with local engineering, local service capability and customer engagement.

A conventional building management setup usually relies on separate tools for elevators, energy, maintenance and facility operations. That can work, but it often leaves data fragmented and slows response times.

BuilMirai and HMAX for Buildings are designed to combine digitalized asset data, AI and service expertise into one operating layer.

Roles of the companies involved

The announcement also divides responsibilities clearly:

  • GlobalLogic is responsible for digital engineering of the service.
  • Hitachi Lift India provides local operational and service capabilities, including elevator systems.
  • Hitachi uses the customer feedback and insights from the center to strengthen BuilMirai and accelerate its global rollout.

Such structure suggests the center is meant to be both local and global: local in its market focus, global in its product impact.

Large industrial companies are increasingly using experience centers to show how AI, operational technology and digital platforms may work together in real environments.

The company is creating a place in India in which the platform can be demonstrated, tested and refined with customers who actually manage buildings and infrastructure.
