Intel Appoints Dean Jarnac as Chief Sales Officer to Strengthen Customer Engagement

Intel has appointed Dean Jarnac as executive vice president and chief sales officer. Intel said Jarnac will join in September and report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan. The role covers Intel’s customer relationships and go-to-market execution across its client, data center, AI, networking and ASIC businesses.

The appointment is meant to strengthen customer relationships and improve execution across its portfolio. Lip-Bu Tan said customer focus and execution are central to Intel’s strategy and future success, and described Jarnac as a leader with deep industry relationships and a track record of building sales organizations.

“Customer focus and execution are central to Intel’s strategy and future success,” said Lip-Bu Tan, Intel CEO. “Dean is a proven leader with deep industry relationships and a strong track record of building high-performance sales organizations. His customer-first mindset, operational discipline, and extensive semiconductor experience will help us deepen customer partnerships and accelerate growth across our business.”

The transition will include the departure of Greg Ernst, who is leaving after 27 years with the company. Intel is changing the leadership around its sales function while keeping the emphasis on customer engagement and revenue execution.

Who Dean Jarnac is

Jarnac comes to Intel from Marvell, where he served as chief sales officer and oversaw the company’s worldwide sales, field application engineering and sales operations organizations. Intel said that before Marvell, he held senior sales leadership positions at Broadcom and AMD, and that he brings more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.

That background matters because Intel is bringing in someone who has spent decades on the customer-facing side of semiconductors, where sales is tied closely to product strategy, technical support and account execution.

Intel hints at three priorities: deepen customer partnerships, improve go-to-market execution, and help convert the company’s product portfolio into revenue growth. Tan said Jarnac’s customer-first mindset, operational discipline and semiconductor experience will help Intel accelerate growth across the business.

Jarnac will oversee sales across Intel’s client computing, data center, AI, networking and ASIC lines. In practical terms, that means he will be responsible for aligning Intel’s commercial teams with large customer accounts, channel partners and product groups that now span more than just PCs and servers.

Intel is replacing a long-serving internal sales leader with an executive who has led sales at other major chip companies, which also says something about the company’s priorities. Intel appears to be looking for a commercial operator with direct experience across the semiconductor market, not just an internal continuity choice.
