Unilever, Google Cloud Announce Five-Year Partnership Focused on AI-Led Consumer Goods Transformation

Unilever and Google Cloud, on 17 February 2026, unveiled a five-year technology partnership to accelerate Unilever’s business transformation through its use of Google Cloud’s advanced AI, data, platform and next-generation marketing capabilities. The alliance is structured around integrating enterprise-wide data and AI capabilities to reshape brand discovery, marketing measurements and operational agility.

Under the agreement, Unilever will migrate significant portions of its integrated data and cloud platforms to Google Cloud infrastructure, establishing what both companies describe as an “AI-first digital backbone.” This platform is intended to help Unilever better respond to market shifts, generate demand more effectively and harness data at scale to derive actionable insights.

The collaboration’s stated goals include developing next-generation marketing intelligence and agentic workflows, and autonomous systems capable of executing complex business processes through AI agents across Unilever’s global portfolio, which includes established brands such as Dove, Vaseline, and Hellmann’s.

Unilever, which reported €50.5 billion in sales in 2025 and whose products are used daily by an estimated 3.7 billion people across more than 190 countries, framed the partnership within a shift toward technology-driven value creation. According to the company’s statement, the move toward a cloud-native, AI-oriented environment is meant to enhance agility across its brand portfolio.

The arrangement reflects broader trends in which large consumer goods firms are seeking deeper integration of data analytics, generative AI and cloud platforms to improve customer engagement, supply chain responsiveness and digital marketing effectiveness.

For Google Cloud, the partnership adds to a roster of strategic engagements with large global enterprises using its AI and data services to transform business functions, with the vendor positioning its Vertex AI and related tools as foundational to future-oriented enterprise platforms. Broader interest in generative and agentic AI technologies has accelerated among cloud providers, with many competing to help traditional corporate clients bridge from experimentation to broad operational deployment of AI capabilities.

The agreement does not publicly disclose financial terms or specific measurable performance targets.
