India AI Impact Summit 2026

New Delhi is hosting one of the most consequential gatherings in the global technology landscape this year: the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16–20, 2026, it marks a turning point in how nations, industry leaders, and innovators are collaborating on artificial intelligence for impact, inclusion, and implementation. This summit represents India’s most ambitious effort yet to bring global policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, researchers and civil society together around the theme of AI for impact, not just innovation.

1. A Historic First for the Global South

For the first time, a major international AI summit is taking place in the Global South. India’s role as host signals the world’s recognition of its growing contribution to the AI ecosystem and its ambition to shape future global norms around responsible and inclusive AI.

2. Massive Global Participation

More than 35,000 people from over 100 countries have registered for the AI Impact Summit 2026. Attendees include heads of state, ministers, CEOs, tech leaders, and researchers. This huge gathering of tech leaders makes it one of the year’s biggest AI events.

3. Youth and Women Are Part of the Agenda

This is not just a gathering of CEOs and ministers. The summit includes initiatives like the Global AI Challenges and youth-focused programmes such as YUVAi. There is also a strong emphasis on women-led AI innovation under initiatives like AI by HER.

In a country with the world’s largest youth population, ignoring that demographic would make no strategic sense.

4. Seven Focus Areas Shape the Conversations

The summit is structured around seven thematic pillars, covering governance, inclusion, trust, innovation ecosystems, skills development and real-world deployment. It’s not just abstract policy talk; it is meant to map ideas to implementation.

For example, how does AI help rural healthcare? How do you train millions for AI-ready jobs? How do you regulate without choking innovation? These are the questions being debated.

5. A Week of Packed Sessions & Exhibits

The India AI Impact Summit to feature over 700 session proposals and more than 500 official events. These include plenaries, technical discussions, policy roundtables, exhibitions and startup showcases, covering topics from AI safety and ethics to industry deployment and social impact.

6. Venue and Accessibility

The AI Impact Summit 2026 will take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India. It also includes a large AI Impact Expo that features 300+ exhibitors from India and abroad.

7. AI for Impact, Not Just Innovation

A key thrust of the summit is shifting the narrative from theoretical debate to actionable impact. Perhaps the most important takeaway is the summit’s framing. This is not about celebrating the latest large language model or competing headline numbers. It is about deployment, how AI improves public health, agricultural productivity, climate resilience and governance efficiency. That shift in tone is significant. For a country like India, scale matters more than spectacle.
