Dell Technologies has launched a new AI Innovation Hub in Singapore, announced during the Dell Technologies Forum. This hub, APJ AI Innovation Hub (AIIH), focuses on improving AI for Singapore and the region.

Since 2019, Dell has invested more than $50 million in the Global Innovation Hub to help improve important areas such as financial services, healthcare, energy efficiency, and education using advanced technology.

The new hub has three main goals: to support AI transformation, help businesses use AI, and establish leadership in AI, which aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0.

The AIIH will help connect the government and businesses to successfully bring AI projects to life. Research shows that many companies in Singapore prefer working with third-party partners who can manage AI projects from start to finish. The AIIH team will work with various organizations to test different ideas and create prototypes for the region.

So far, the hub has created around 50 AI solutions and concepts, along with hands-on workshops and demonstrations aimed specifically at businesses in the APJ region.

Additionally, Dell has set up an AI Centre of Excellence Lab which focuses on research and development in AI, especially in areas like AI-enabled computers and edge computing.

This lab works with schools and hardware partners to ensure that new AI solutions can be properly tested and used across different environments. The AIIH is collaborating with 10 local educational institutions to teach important AI skills such as AI engineering, machine learning, and cloud technology.

“Our research shows that 90% of businesses in Singapore will invest more in AI projects in the next 6 to 12 months. Companies understand that AI is crucial for future growth. The Dell Technologies APJ AI Innovation Hub supports AI progress and helps businesses lead in AI for Singapore and the APJ region,” said Andy Sim, Vice President & Managing Director of Dell Technologies in Singapore.

“Businesses in Singapore and the APJ region are using AI, but they have different levels of readiness for it. The AI Innovation Hub is a reliable partner, providing all the support needed to help businesses test, start, and grow their AI projects,” said Peter Marrs, President for Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Dell Technologies. “As Singapore celebrates its 60th anniversary, we continue to support its journey by enhancing technology that empowers companies and improves lives. This new hub strengthens our commitment to help bridge the gap between AI hopes and real applications.”
