Cybersecurity is not just a concern for individuals, corporate but many community groups, schools, religious organizations and for thoes whole holds data. The level of sophistication of cybercriminals is increasing daily. The digital date is very sensitive; it is the responsibility of every individual/business to consider investing in the long-term security of the company with the best tools that can protect them from such cyber threats. Failing to do can be a huge loss to anyone in the future and will lead to being easy prey for hackers. Following are few important cybersecurity tools and tips that can help you avoid becoming a victim of cybercrimes.

1. Use updated Antivirus Softwares

Antivirus regularly scan and protects your system from any threats,  trojans, worms and other malware but most of us let go of this small step which can help us to protect from harmful malware and viruses. To Keep your cybersecurity strong, install antivirus software that can scan your system thoroughly, and make sure your antivirus is updated regularly and keep automatic updates On.

2. Network Security

Strong network security system helps business reduce the risk of falling victim of data theft and sabotage. Network security helps protect your workstations from any threats.

3. Virtual Private Network

VPN is helpful when it comes to online security and privacy. It encrypts traffic and masks visibility of  IP address so no one can hack your system.

4. Email Security

Email Security is essential as most of the ransomware attacks happen due to infected email attachments. It blocks such malicious content.

5. Strong Password

Very essential part, In this digital world every account requires password security to authenticate secure access, most of the time people usualy choose common passwrod like birth date, name with 123, 12345 etc. Cybersecurity criminals with advanc tools and techniques easily can guess these common passwords.

People should avoide these mistakes and choose strong password using combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. We should also use separate password for each online account and change them regularly.

6. Multi-Factor Authentication

Enabling multi-factor authentication for crucial accounts like bank and credit card makes it harder for a hacker to break into your accounts as it asks code via email and phone number.

7. Password Manager

Use a password manager to store your login details of all the important sites; this handy tools can help you to remember your login details and you won’t have to use sticky notes/books which can be easily accessed by anyone. Another tip is to use a different password for all the sites and long enough with all the characteristics (number, alphabets, symbols, small and uppercase and unrelated).

8. Encryption and Back-Up

By encrypting smartphone, computer data along with emails; you are safeguarding those files from hackers. If in case someone hacks your device or system they will get rubbish data which will not be of any use. Always keep a backup of all your important official files, photos, at various places like hard drives, cloud storage system etc to prevent data loss.

9. You should know what you are clicking

You should always be very careful while clicking any random link, It may contain malware, spyware or other harmful viruses.

10. Penetration Testing

Penetration testing is the same technique used by cybersecurity professionals to test if there are some loopholes if any so that they can rectify it then and there.
