Bharti Airtel on Monday announced the launch of its ultra-fast 5G services in 125 cities. Airtel 5G Plus is expected to benefit consumers greatly, including improved download and upload speeds, better video streaming quality, and more seamless online gaming experiences.
“5G has revolutionized the world of the internet, ushering new era of connectivity and communications that will prove to be a game-changer for the country.” said, Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel.
“Airtel was the first in the country to offer 5G services in October 2022, and today’s mega launch is our promise to connect every Airtel customer in the country with ultra-fast Airtel 5G Plus. Our 5G rollout is on track to cover all towns and key rural areas by March 2024.” he added.
Airtel 5G Plus service is now available to customers in over 265 cities in the country.
The company is upgrading its 4G network infrastructure and deploying new 5G-specific equipment to support the latest technology.
Airtel’s 5G Plus services will significantly enhance how people connect and communicate, enabling new possibilities and transforming how we use technology.
Airtel said that the 5G Plus service availability will continue to grow rapidly, including service in all towns and villages in India, as the company is working towards delivering nationwide coverage.
The company said that Airtel now offers 5G services in every major city, from the upper northern city of Jammu to the southern tip of Kanyakumari.
Last month, Bharti Airtel launched its 5G services in all states in the northeast region.
With the upgraded infrastructure, Airtel’s 5G Plus services will provide customers faster internet speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connections. Customers can experience faster internet speeds than 4G, allowing them to download large files and high-quality stream video without buffering.
Reliance Jio and Airtel are aggressively launching 5G services across Indian cities. In the last one year, Airtel has shown the power of 5G with a host of robust use cases that will change the way customers lead their lives and do business.
