Wipro announced that its current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) Abidali Z Neemuchwala steps down from the positions due to family commitments. For the company’s smooth operation and functioning, Abidali will continue to hold his position as CEO & MD until the company finds his replacement. Wipro Board of Directors said they have started looking for Abidali Z Neemuchwala replacement.
Abidali Z Neemuchwala joins Wipro in April 2015 as a Chief Operating Officer (COO) and group president. In Feb 2016, he got promoted as CEO and MD of the company. Prior joining Wipro, Abidali was serving Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on a key leadership role. Abidali has more than 27 years of experience in the IT service industry and holds vast operational knowledge and key leadership roles in business, technology, sales, and consulting.
Abidali was recognized as the BPO CEO of the year in 2010, further, in 2012, he was recognized by the Shared Services Organisation of IPQC for his tremendous contribution to the IT industry.
Abidali was born in 1967 in Madhya Pradesh India, and he holds an engineering bachelor from the National Institute of Technology in Raipur India and also PG degree from IIT Bombay India.
