Global IT firm Wipro announced the acquisition of ‘Ampion’ an Australian cyber security, DevOps, and quality engineering services provider, for $117 million.
The acquisition is supposed to conclude in the quarter ending June 30, 2021, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Wipro has been present in the ANZ market for over two decades with broad client relationships across the sectors and localized domain and delivery capabilities. The acquisition of Ampion is an impornat step for Wipro in this direction and strengthens the commitment towards clients and stakeholders in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
The headquarters of Ampion is in Melbourne and offices in Sydney, Brisbane, and a zone 3 facility in Canberra. Ampion was formed through a merger of an IT firm and a cyber security firm in 2010. The Australian market is experiencing vital disruption by adopting cloud, DevOps, analytics, and resilience-related digital capacities across enterprises and public sector entities.
Wipro and Ampion’s consolidated offerings, powered by engineering transformation, DevOps, and cyber security consulting services, will bring scale and market agility to respond to customers’ growing demands.
