Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has renewed and expanded its contract with Weatherford International (WFRD), an oilfield service company based in North America, for another five years.

In this new agreement, TCS will use its expertise in automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital technology to help improve Weatherford’s business operations. The focus of this partnership will be to make operations more efficient in important areas like finance, supply chains, and human resources.

TCS plans to bring in advanced AI solutions to make Weatherford’s finance and accounting tasks easier, lower costs, and allow for better growth.

This will help Weatherford become more adaptable and improve its financial stability over the long term. This new contract builds on seven years of working together, during which TCS helped Weatherford cut costs by about 50% in key operations.

Girish Saligram, the President and CEO of Weatherford International, mentioned that with the rapid changes in the energy sector and the need for more efficiency, this renewed partnership with TCS is very important. He emphasized that using AI and improving processes will help Weatherford perform better and adapt to new challenges in the industry.

Going forward, TCS will play a bigger role in helping Weatherford with its transformation goals while aligning operations with its digital strategy. By using new technologies and offering customized solutions, TCS aims to help Weatherford manage its resources better and achieve sustainable growth.

Debashis Ghosh, President and Business Group Head of Lifesciences, Healthcare, Energy & Resources, Utilities and Public Services (US), TCS, stated that this new agreement is built on a strong history of teamwork and success over the past seven years. TCS has applied effective strategies that have improved Weatherford’s operational efficiency significantly, as shown by the 50% reduction in costs in essential services.

Over the last seven years, TCS has worked closely with Weatherford to enhance its business operations in finance, supply chain, and human resources.

The new agreement will continue to provide these services while adding TCS’s advisory help. This collaboration aims to help Weatherford achieve its transformation goals by simplifying processes and enhancing efficiency. TCS works with four of the top five oilfield service companies in the world. TCS experts from different regions support the energy sector, contributing to this evolving industry. TCS offers a wide range of services, including consulting, systems integration, cloud services, cyber security, application support, testing, and digital technologies.
