Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new student training initiative, “My First AI Job,” in partnership with the University of Cincinnati and Salesforce. The program was announced on April 15, 2026, and is intended to help final-year students build practical AI skills, gain certification, and move closer to entry-level roles in technology. TCS said the effort is aimed at students in Cincinnati and is meant to support a broader pipeline of AI-ready talent in the United States.
The University of Cincinnati said the market increasingly expects graduates to arrive with applied skills, while TCS said the program is designed to narrow the gap between classroom learning and workforce readiness. Salesforce is also involved in the collaboration, which brings industry certification into the model.
About “My First AI Job”
According to TCS, “My First AI Job” is an intensive three-month curriculum for final-year students. The program combines technical training with communication and employability skills. It also includes hands-on projects, mentorship, global certifications, and practice interviews.
The program will align student learning with current industry and client needs, and it is built to map students toward specific roles in the company’s talent pipeline. That makes the initiative different from a standard certificate course. It is closer to a work-readiness track, with assessment and job preparation built into the structure from the start.
How the program works
TCS said the collaboration will include a jointly developed Salesforce certification curriculum. The company described this as a curated, industry-focused course that will also give undergraduate students the chance to participate in a fall co-op, where they can receive professional training and hands-on experience at TCS.
TCS said the paid training model is intended to help students move into potential employment opportunities after graduation. The certification pathway will serve as a real-world assessment, giving employers a clearer view of student readiness before hiring decisions are made.
For students, they get exposure to AI-related tools and workplace expectations before graduation.
TCS said the program reflects its plan to build an AI talent pipeline in the United States and to recruit more local talent for client-facing work. Amit Bajaj, President, North America at TCS, said, “In keeping with its aspiration of becoming the world’s largest AI-led technology services company, TCS is committed to building a pipeline of AI jobs in the heartland of America by helping students graduate with industry-ready AI skills that are in high demand. Building on our longstanding partnerships with the University of Cincinnati and Salesforce, we are designing a blueprint for the AI jobs of the future that will make U.S. companies more innovative and competitive. We are proud to launch this in Cincinnati, home of our new North America Salesforce Center of Excellence, where customer proximity meets scaled talent.”
TCS recently opened a Salesforce Center of Excellence at its Global Delivery Center in Milford, Ohio, which it described as its largest delivery center in the United States. The company said that location is tied to its broader effort to support customer work, training, and hiring in the region.
The University of Cincinnati’s role is practical rather than ceremonial. In the company release, Hazem Said, Professor & Director, School of Information Technology, University of Cincinnati, said, “Companies increasingly expect entry-level job seekers to hit the ground running with practical AI skills they can put to use on day one. It is exciting to be at the vanguard of collaborating with a technology industry pioneer to build pathways to success for tomorrow’s AI leaders. I believe that we are creating a model that will help redefine the value of a university education.”
