Deutsche Telekom and Google Cloud have entered into a strategic collaboration to boost Radio Access Network (RAN) operations by deploying an advanced AI network agent.
Employing the capabilities of Gemini 2.0 within Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, this advanced AI network agent is engineered to perform in-depth analyses of network behavior, identify performance degradation, and autonomously execute corrective measures, with improvement of network reliability, optimized operational expenditures, and elevates customer service quality.
The Agentic AI framework harnesses large language models (LLMs) alongside sophisticated reasoning algorithms to develop intelligent agents capable of independent cognition, reasoning, action, and learning. The RAN Guardian agent interacts with the network in a human-like capacity, identifying anomalies and executing self-healing protocols to refine RAN performance and resilience.
“Traditional network management approaches are no longer sufficient to meet the demands of 5G and beyond,” said Abdu Mudesir, Group CTO, Deutsche Telekom. “We are pioneering AI agents for networks, working with key partners like Google Cloud, to unlock a new level of intelligence and automation in RAN operations as a step towards autonomous, self-healing networks.”
