TCS Partners with Salling Group

TCS

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a long-term partnership with Salling Group to promote sustainability, introduce new technologies, and enhance the organization’s operational efficiency. This partnership will involve Salling Group’s 2,100 stores and 68,000 employees in Denmark, Poland, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. This includes brands such as BR, a toy store chain, fast-food restaurants like Carl’s Jr. and Starbucks, and grocery stores such as føtex, Bilka, Netto, and RIMI Baltic.

As part of the partnership, TCS will assist the Salling Group in leveraging cloud technology to enhance their operations, making them more environmentally friendly. TCS will also help upgrade Salling’s online shopping platform to better meet the changing demands of customers.

Alan Jensen, the Chief Information Officer at Salling Group, stated, “At Salling Group, our goal is to improve our customers’ lives. This project aligns with that purpose. Our collaboration with TCS will enable us to respond to our customers’ evolving needs in a responsible and sustainable manner. This partnership supports our ‘Aspire 28’ strategy, which plans for more stores and growth in new markets.”

TCS will use its AI-powered cloud management solution Cloud Exponence. It utilizes technology to enhance the collaboration between machines and people, delivering more intelligent services in cloud environments. With AI and automated task handling, this solution helps reduce the effort required to manage the cloud, ensures consistent service, and provides comprehensive support for infrastructure needs.

Vikram Sharma, the Country Head for TCS in Denmark, said, “Salling Group is a respected retail organization with a long history and is important to the community in Denmark and Europe. We are excited to be chosen as their IT partner as they adapt to changing customer needs. We will bring our experience and expertise to help Salling Group strengthen its operations and explore new technologies.”

Abhijit Niyogi, a Vice President at TCS, added, “We are proud to work with Salling Group in achieving their Aspire 28 goals and supporting their long-term growth. We are dedicated to their success and will use our experience in retail to help them innovate and grow. Together, we will create an agile and sustainable organization that provides better shopping experiences for customers.”
