Cognite, a Norwegian software company, announced today that Guru Ananthanarayanan has been appointed as Managing Director of Cognite India, focusing on enhancing its Industrial AI capabilities for global customer service in Energy, Process, and Manufacturing.
Guru Ananthanarayanan has managed multimillion-dollar software projects for Fortune 500 companies and built high-performance teams to deliver complex solutions. He served as Vice President and Country Lead in India for Blue Yonder and worked as an engineer at Hyundai.
Cognite offers a unique combination of industry-tailored AI product capabilities, specialized industrial domain knowledge, and industrial generative AI delivery expertise.

The cognite’s latest strategic offering, Cognite Atlas AI, is a low-code industrial agent builder that enables industrial organizations to use generative AI to carry out more complex operations with greater accuracy, including workflow automation and decision-making support. This accelerates efficiencies that can generate tens of millions of dollars in business impact.
With existing offices in Oslo, Norway, Austin, Texas, and Tokyo, Japan, the India Center of Excellence (ICoE) was established to advance technical innovations and the development of breakthrough AI products, expand service offerings, and accelerate time to value for organizations looking to implement digital solutions.

Guru Ananthanarayanan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Manufacturing from BITS, Pilani.
At the outset, the ICoE will add 100+ experts to the Cognite team, including top talent in AI/ML, data science, engineering, services, and program management. Additionally, Cognite is currently reaching out to industry, technology partners, and academia to foster partnerships and co-innovation.
