SINGAPORE; April 30, 2025 – UOB and Accenture announced today that they have signed an agreement to work together on using new technologies, like generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and agentic AI, over the next three years. This is the first time Accenture has made such an agreement with a bank in Singapore.
UOB wants to improve customer experiences by using innovative technology. Through this agreement, UOB will use Accenture’s AI tools, including their AI Refinery™️ platform, to speed up its use of GenAI. The goal is to use these AI tools across the bank to make business processes better, increase productivity, manage risks, and personalize customer experiences quickly.
UOB is also focused on training its employees to use these advanced technologies effectively. This partnership will help all UOB employees become more familiar with data and AI, giving them the right skills to use these technologies. Employees will have access to training programs through Accenture’s LearnVantage services, which will help them use these tools to improve customer engagement.
Mr. Wee Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman and CEO of UOB, said, “We are excited about the great possibilities that new technologies can bring. Our aim is to use AI tools to change our operations, improve productivity, and offer personalized customer experiences quickly across our network in ASEAN.”
Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, said, “We are proud to work with UOB to help them achieve their vision for the future of banking by using generative and agentic AI quickly and by helping their employees learn valuable new technology skills. Together, we will create better experiences for UOB customers and drive more efficiency and growth.”
This collaboration with Accenture shows UOB’s commitment to using AI and new technologies to provide better value to customers, improve efficiency, and prepare its workforce for the future.
