Samsung Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KDDI Research, the R&D division of Japanese telecommunications service provider KDDI, focused on conducting joint research to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) in the evolution of mobile communication networks, particularly as 6G standardization progresses.
Through this collaboration, the companies will explore AI-driven methodologies to optimize D-MIMO systems’ design and operational parameters. This optimization aims to enable elevated transmission rates to meet the demands of growing data consumption and connectivity for the next-gen telecom landscape.
As 6G standardization with AI technology expands across industries, companies emphasize the enhancement of network efficiency and capacity through advanced AI applications in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technologies. It deployed multiple cells, yielding significant benefits such as improved performance at coverage boundaries and throughout the entire network.
