OpenAI has launched a new search engine powered by artificial intelligence. Now, ChatGPT can become your web search platform with its unique features and AI integration. Google is the most used search engine in the world, capturing almost 92% of the search market.
The Searching option will be available on chatgpt.com, and its desktop and mobile apps.
Paid members with access to ChatGPT Plus, team users, and SearchGPT waitlist users can have access to search features starting today. Enterprise and Edu users will get access to the search features in the next few weeks, according to OpenAI.
Based on your search input, OpenAI’s AI-led Search engine summarizes information from different websites and then displays brief information with the source URL.
Sometimes, finding relevant, accurate information from search engines is hectic; it takes lots of time and energy. ChatGPT promises to get you a better, relevant answer with follow-up questions and answers.
The search engine underwent testing with approximately 10,000 users and many publishers in July under the name SearchGPT project, which OpenAI claimed would leverage the company’s AI models to deliver search outcomes.
OpenAI has tie-ups with information, news, and data providers for daily up-to-date news updates under different categories, like sports, weather information, stock market-related news, maps, etc.
Last year, OpenAI teamed with various publishers, including the Associated Press, the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, News Corp, Politico, and Axel Springer, which owns Business Insider. These partnerships allow OpenAI to use the content from each publisher to enhance its responses to user inquiries and to train the AI models.
