MongoDB has appointed Sachin Chawla to lead its operations in India and the ASEAN region. The company aims to accelerate growth and enhance customer experience in both regions.
Sachin brings with him over two decades of experience in sales, having held key leadership roles at Amazon Web Services and BMC Software. He joined MongoDB in February 2022 to manage its operations in India.
Under his leadership, the Indian sector has seen substantial growth, fueled by partnerships with notable clients such as Tata Digital, Canara HSBC, Zepto, Zomato, and Intellect AI. In his new role, Sachin will be relocating to Singapore. Over the last three years, MongoDB India has expanded its workforce by 70% and has initiated programs to equip more than 500,000 students in India with essential skills in data and AI.
MongoDB’s strong presence in the ASEAN markets is further bolstered by a vibrant developer community and an impressive roster of clients, including Grab, Dkatalis, M-DAQ, and Aktivo Labs.
“Both the ASEAN region and India are central to developer innovation and the rapidly changing business environment, making them prime areas for advancements during the AI era. Given the significant contributions he has made in India, I am confident that Sachin Chawla is the ideal leader to capitalize on MongoDB’s established presence in ASEAN and achieve transformative results for our clients,” commented Simon Eid, Senior Vice President of APAC at MongoDB.
“I take great pride in the team we’ve formed in India and have seen firsthand the significant impact MongoDB has had in enabling local clients to create transformative applications. As we move into an AI-driven market, I am excited about the vast opportunities ahead in ASEAN. These two regions, at this critical point, combined with the transformational capabilities of MongoDB’s technology, offer exceptional prospects,” stated Sachin Chawla, Area Vice President of ASEAN and India at MongoDB.
