Ravi Kumar S, the CEO of Cognizant, has been awarded the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award. It is the highest accolade award the Government of India gives to people of Indian origin living abroad.
The award was given to him by Smt Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, during a special event called the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
This award recognizes the great work done by the Indian community living outside India. They help others understand India better, support Indian issues, and work for the welfare of the Indian community.

We have nearly 70% of our 340,000 employees in India, and we focus on building AI technology, driving new ideas, and helping India become a leader in digital skills.”
Ravi Kumar S started his career as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center in India. He believes in training and supporting people so they can get good jobs in the future. He also promotes the education and empowerment of women through partnerships between public and private organizations.
Ravi became the CEO of Cognizant in January 2023 and joined the board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum in 2024. He is also on the board of TransUnion, the New York Academy of Sciences, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
