Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has signed an agreement with Magna Yuma Private Limited, a company that offers battery swapping services. This agreement aims to establish stations where electric vehicle (EV) batteries can be easily swapped out.
According to the agreement, Tata Power-DDL will give space for building these battery swapping stations, while Magna Yuma will manage the design, purchasing, installation, and maintenance of the stations.
The agreement was signed with major people from both companies, including Mr. Dwijadas Basak, the CEO of Tata Power-DDL, Ms. Kiran Gupta, and other officials from Tata Power-DDL, along with the leadership from Magna Yuma.
This partnership aims to create a robust system for electric vehicles, focusing on commercial two-wheelers, especially for gig workers (those who work in temporary or flexible jobs).
Speaking about this partnership, Mr. Dwijadas Basak said, “Tata Power-DDL is happy to work with Magna Yuma to expand the battery swapping network in Delhi. This project is a part of our goal to promote clean energy and support sustainable transportation. Together, we want to lower air and noise pollution while providing new job opportunities for young people in the city and boosting the gig economy.”
Initially, Magna Yuma will set up two Battery Swapping Stations in Tata Power-DDL grid substations at Shalimar Bagh facility Centre Grid and Badli Grid.
