Oracle has unveiled the latest Xstore Point of Service (POS) version, designed to optimize retail operations and enhance in-store engagement.
This cloud-based application has been updated on a new architecture with an intuitive user interface and streamlined workflows that drive operational efficiency while enabling a connected retail experience for businesses of all sizes.
Retail associates can execute daily transactions seamlessly, leveraging new dashboards that promptly display customers’ past purchase histories alongside curated worklists to facilitate actions such as preparing ‘Buy Online, Pick Up In Store’ (BOPIS) orders.
The newly designed Xstore operates on a containerized architecture, harnessing the robust security and high-performance capabilities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with the data processing prowess and automation capabilities of Oracle Autonomous Database.
The advancements enable retailers to deploy, update, and securely extend new functionalities atop the open, extensible Xstore platform in a cost-effective manner. Xstore provides an array of flexible deployment options, including public cloud, multicloud, on-premises, and the newly introduced OCI Roving Edge Infrastructure. It can be delivered as a fully mobile solution on iOS or Android-based tablets or other handheld devices, as well as on desktops.

With OCI and OCI Container Instances, vendors can accelerate implementations and updates and seamlessly combine their own containerized applications into the Xstore platform, eliminats intricacies associated with server management.
