NetApp has announced that it works with NVIDIA to support the NVIDIA AI Data Platform in the NetApp AIPod solution. This alliance aims to help more businesses adopt advanced AI technologies. The NetApp AIPod, powered by NetApp ONTAP, will assist companies in creating safe and organized AI data systems. These systems are essential for processes like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and inferencing, allowing organizations to utilize AI innovations fully.
As businesses seek to use AI to solve difficult challenges, they need smart data systems. These systems can eliminate data blockages that slow down progress. A recent NetApp report showed that 79 percent of technology and business leaders believe that uniting their data is essential for achieving the best AI results by 2025.
The NetApp AIPod solution, built with the NVIDIA AI Data Platform, uses NVIDIA accelerated computing to run services like NVIDIA NeMo Retriever. This connects different parts with scalable storage, allowing companies to quickly scan, index, classify, and retrieve documents, both private and public. This makes AI systems smarter as they work on complex problems, helping businesses turn data into knowledge and improve AI accuracy across various tasks.
Sandeep Singh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Storage at NetApp, stated, “Understanding business data in a complete way is crucial for companies to gain a competitive edge in today’s world. AI inference plays a key role in this.” He emphasized that a unified approach to data storage is vital for businesses to make the most of their information. The growth of AI has shown that having connected data storage is important; businesses need to eliminate barriers in their IT environments, whether they are in the cloud or on-site.
Rob Davis, Vice President of Storage Technology at NVIDIA, said, “Agentic AI helps companies solve tough problems very efficiently and accurately, but this depends on having quick access to quality data.” He added that the combination of the NVIDIA AI Data Platform and NetApp’s strong storage capabilities makes it easier for AI to work with business data, leading to greater productivity.
