Motorola Solutions has agreed to acquire Theatro Labs, Inc., an AI-driven and voice-enabled communication and digital workflow software platform based in Richardson, Texas.
The transaction is predicted to close in the first half of 2025, pending required regulatory approvals and completion of standard closing conditions. Financial details regarding the transaction remain closed.
Theatro’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform is specially designed for frontline personnel, delivering a comprehensive suite of partnership applications that deliver real-time information. This capability significantly enhances productivity and bolsters physical safety.
Theatro’s capabilities are combined with Motorola Solutions’ existing portfolio—including body-worn cameras, fixed video solutions, panic buttons, and communication radios to create enhanced, value-added services for current customers.
Users can utilize conversational AI via a wearable interface and engage with Theatro’s voice assistant for various tasks, such as assisting customers, verifying inventory and pricing, and encouraging inter-team communication. This technology not only streamlines workflows but also enhances product knowledge among users. Theatro’s platform allows users to secretly inform management and security teams of safety concerns directly via this device.
