BENGALURU, January 16, 2026: Anthropic, the U.S.-based artificial intelligence research and deployment company, has appointed Irina Ghose as Managing Director of India. Irina Ghose, a seasoned technology executive and former Managing Director of Microsoft India.
Ghose brings more than 30 years of experience in scaling technology organisations and driving enterprise AI adoption across sectors, including banking, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and government. At Microsoft, she led widespread digital transformation initiatives and was instrumental in fostering cloud and AI usage among Indian enterprises before leaving the company in late 2025.

Anthropic, backed by major technology investors like Google and Amazon is preparing to open its first office in Bengaluru in early 2026. India already ranks as Anthropic’s second-largest market for its AI assistant Claude.ai, particularly among technical and developer communities.
Irina Ghose’s role will include deepening engagement with enterprises, academic institutions and policymakers, as well as advancing responsible AI adoption tailored to local market needs.
