Leading Indian telecom company Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched its 5G services in Kochi today. The services will also be available in Thiruvananthapuram from August 20, 2025. Vi recently launched 5G in Kozhikode and Malappuram, too.
Before this, Vi introduced 5G in several cities, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Mysuru, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Patna, Jaipur, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Meerut, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Vishakhapatnam, Madurai, and Agra.
Vi users in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram who have 5G-enabled mobile devices can now use Vi 5G services. As a special offer, Vi is providing unlimited 5G data to users on certain plans.
George Mathew V, the Business Head for Kerala at Vi, said, “We are excited to bring Vi 5G to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. With our new 5G and strong 4G services, we want to give more options and a better experience to our users. We are committed to expanding our 5G services across Kerala to meet growing demand.”
In Kerala, Vi is working with Ericsson to build advanced and energy-efficient systems. They are using technology that helps automatically improve network performance.
Along with the 5G rollout, Vi has also upgraded its 4G network in Kerala. Vi also started 4G services in the Lakshadweep islands last November.
