Ericsson has been awarded a multi-year contract to manage services for Bharti Airtel, which strengthens their long-standing partnership.
With this agreement, Ericsson will use its central Network Operations Center (NOC) to manage Airtel’s services. This includes their 4G and 5G networks, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), Private Networks, and Network Slicing. Ericsson will manage Airtel’s network across India with advanced technology and will help expand FWA and Network Slicing services in the country.
Randeep Sekhon, the Chief Technology Officer of Bharti Airtel, said, “We are excited to work more closely with Ericsson as we look to build a network for the future that offers a great experience for our customers. We believe these new technologies will help us meet the increasing data needs of people in a connected India.”
Andres Vicente, who leads Ericsson in Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India, stated: “This important agreement with Bharti Airtel shows our dedication to helping them provide the best experience for their customers. By using Intent-Based NOC Operations, we will help Airtel offer more diverse services to meet customer needs and create new revenue opportunities.”
Ericsson and Bharti Airtel have been partners for over 25 years and have worked together through many advancements in mobile communication technology. This announcement comes shortly after Airtel’s collaboration with Ericsson to advance 5G technology.
