LTIMindtree, a technology consulting and digital solution provider, has embarked on an Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) in partnering with reputed Civil Society organizations across India, targeting 16 aspirational blocks recognized by Niti Aayog, including the tribal and underdeveloped Balarampur Block, West Bengal.
The program represents LTIMindtree’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), focusing on sustainable development and managing the specific social and economic challenges of the local population.
In collaboration with the EAGL Livelihood Foundation, LTIMindtree is implementing a multifaceted strategy to bolster education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. The complete program includes significant infrastructural improvements and community service enhancements.
Sharing his thoughts, Paneesh Rao, Chief Sustainability Officer of LTIMindtree, said, “The launch of the Integrated Village Development Programme in Balarampur reflects LTIMindtree’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in rural communities. By collaborating with local organizations and focusing on education, health, and infrastructure, we aim to empower the residents of Balarampur and create lasting change.”

The enhancement done by IVDP in Balarampur includes:
1. Revitalization of Anganwadi Centres: Five Anganwadi Centres have been altered into model facilities, replete with educational aids, infographics, and recreational equipment aimed at promoting a conducive learn-and-play environment for lactating mothers and children up to six years old.
2. School Renovations: Continued renovations of five local schools are improving infrastructure and learning essentials, with strategic plans to elevate these institutions into model schools by using best techniques in pedagogy and facility administration.
3. Coaching Centres Installation: Two free coaching centers, located at BaraUrma High School and Chanditala High School, have been set to optimize academic performance for students preparing for board examinations. The initiative targets an enhancement of achievement, encouraging students to secure 60% or higher in their final assessments.
4. Agricultural Water Resource Enhancement: LTIMindtree is promoting the construction of farm ponds with a total storage power of 22,500 cubic meters, thereby providing regional farmers with critical irrigation support. This intervention desires to enhance agricultural productivity across approximately 450 acres of farmland.
Also, a special installation has been the solar-operated signal system designed to improve road safety and lower accidents in the area, highlighting LTIMindtree’s commitment to integrated and impactful community development.
