Nike announced today that Michael Gonda will be the new Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Nike, Inc., effective July 7, 2025. In this role, Gonda will lead the team responsible for global communication. He will oversee all facets of the communications strategy, including storytelling, corporate and brand reputation, issues management, and employee engagement.
Michael Gonda will be part of the company’s Senior Leadership Team and report to President and CEO Elliott Hill.

Before joining Nike, Michael Gonda held various important roles at McDonald’s Corporation, including Chief Impact Officer for North America. In this position, he oversaw communication, public relations, sustainability, community engagement, and charity initiatives for the company’s key markets, while also serving as Global Chief Communications Officer. He was also part of the Global Senior Leadership Team.

Before his time at McDonald’s, Gonda worked in high-level positions at Chobani, a food company focused on purpose, and the communications agency Weber Shandwick. He loves running and traveling and has lived in various places like the United States, Kenya, and China. Gonda earned his Bachelor’s degree in English with Honors from Brown University.
