KPIT Technologies has announced the opening of the KPIT APEX Lab in partnership with COEP Technological University. APEX stands for Advanced Platform for Embedded eXpertise, which is part of KPIT’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and academia upskilling, and represents a strategic step towards bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial application.
This lab has the latest tools and is made to help students and teachers solve real problems related to embedded systems and the connection between hardware and software.
Vinayak Pai, the Chairman of COEP Technological University, said about the lab’s opening, “This KPIT APEX Lab is an important step in connecting what students learn in school with what they need in work. By working with companies, we give our students hands-on experience in new embedded systems, so they are ready for future challenges. With support from our Vice Chancellor and the Board of Governance, I believe this lab will become a center for innovation and excellence.”
Anup Sable, CTO of KPIT Technologies, mentioned, “We think that the future of mobility and embedded systems will be shaped by strong partnerships between industry and schools. The KPIT APEX Lab aims to help build engineering skills by giving students hands-on experience. By providing them with advanced tools and collaborative learning, we are investing in the talent of future engineers.”
The lab follows the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages learning in different areas, practical experience, and a system where students can earn credits. It is designed to be available to students from COEP Technological University and other member schools.
Currently, AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Engineering, and Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering are member institutions in the cluster, with more institutions expected to join.
