Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, has a four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) to transform engineering education across India.
This partnership focuses on upskilling educators affiliated with INAE while enhancing student access to high-quality internships and project mentorship facilitated by the academy.
An allowance of over ₹38 crore has been allocated for this initiative, which desires to elevate the standards of training for engineering professionals and academic institutions. They target students enrolled in Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) and Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) programs, offering them structured project-based internships and year-long mentorship engagements.
This program provides a dual approach: educators will profit from a blend of in-person and virtual development sessions designed to refine their technical proficiency, classroom management competencies, and capabilities for fostering student engagement.

INAE will equip the students with essential technical and professional skills to enhance their employability in a competitive job demand. About 600 experienced mentors from premier academic institutions across India will participate in mentoring over 2,000 educators and 1,700 students, creating a robust transformation in engineering education in the country.
Prof. Indranil Manna, INAE, said, “We thank Infosys Foundation for helping us take forward our mission to raise the quality and credibility of the engineering education ecosystem in India. By bridging the gap between academia and industry through practical learning and educator development, we aim to inspire a new generation of talent, a refreshed engineering curriculum and teaching methodologies.”
Sumit Virmani, Trustee of Infosys Foundation, said, “Our collaboration with INAE furthers Infosys Foundation’s commitment to shaping the future of education in India. By working with INAE, we hope to empower educators with the right set of teaching skills and provide students with real-world learning experiences through internships and meaningful guidance from mentors that will collectively contribute towards boosting the employability of the engineering workforce in India.”
