On World Electric Mobility (EV) Day (celebrated annually on September 9th), Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited unveiled India’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub.
This charging hub was inaugurated by Dr. Praveer Sinha, the CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, and Mr. Shailesh Chandra, the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.
The TATA.ev MegaCharger is located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, inside The Leela Mumbai Hotel. The hub has eight fast DC chargers that can charge up to 120 kW and features a total of 16 charging bays. It can charge 16 EVs at the same time.
It is made to assist different types of EV users, including private car owners, taxis, ride-hailing services, and delivery companies.
At the opening, Dr. Praveer Sinha said, “This charging hub, built with Tata Motors, shows our plan to support clean green energy in India. It is powered by renewable energy and will be a model for future EV infrastructure. We plan to open more hubs in major cities to help increase EV usage across India.”
This MegaCharger adds to the more than 1,000 green charging points Tata Power has already set up in Mumbai. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, “Tata Motors is leading India’s electric vehicle movement by not just providing great electric cars but also by building a strong network of charging stations.
