In today’s world, businesses need to adapt, drive collaboration, and foster innovation to succeed. HCLTech’s new research, “The Blueprint to AI-led Operating Model,” explains how using Product-Aligned Operating Models (PAOMs) becomes crucial for organizations that want to be prepared for the future. The study reveals that 9 out of 10 companies with outdated working methods fail to achieve satisfactory returns on their investments.
In a market influenced by AI and constant changes, adopting a Product-Aligned Operating Model is becoming a major advantage. The research surveyed 550 senior IT and business leaders from the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Here are some key findings from The Blueprint to AI-led Operating Model:
– 88% of companies are moving towards Product-Aligned Operating Models, and another 12% plan to start using them within the next three years. However, all of them face challenges while trying to implement this change.
– Generative AI (GenAI) is essential: Almost half (47%) believe that GenAI will improve how products are managed and how decisions are made, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
– Leadership and culture matter a great deal: 95% of people believe that their companies need to change their culture and mindset to fully benefit from Product-Aligned Operating Models. Getting support from leaders and being aligned are major obstacles.
– Customer feedback is a valuable resource: Only 17% of organizations fully utilize customer feedback, despite 94% believing it is crucial for product development.
– Working together fosters innovation: While one-third of organizations work together across different departments, 99.6% believe there is still room for improvement.
– Investing in AI pays off: Half of the companies that use a product-aligned operating model are investing in AI and are four times more likely to gain a good return on that investment compared to traditional companies.
According to Ashish Kumar Gupta, Chief Growth Officer at HCLTech, “A product-aligned operating model brings teams together with a common vision, helping them work better and become more efficient. This method allows companies to innovate and meet customer needs more effectively.”
Pawan Vadapalli, Corporate Vice President at HCLTech, said, “As change becomes normal, adopting a product-aligned operating model is essential, not just an option. HCLTech Fenix and AI Force provide a clear way to tackle challenges, combining strategy, technology, and flexibility to turn change into innovation and achieve positive results.”
As the landscape continues to evolve, the ability to align products with collaborative, AI-driven processes will determine which companies thrive and which fall behind. Now is the time for businesses to reflect, adapt, and create a roadmap for a future defined by innovation and collaboration. After all, embracing the new blueprint is no longer a choice but a necessity for survival in the era of AI.
