DUBAI, UAE, Jan. 22, 2025: e&, a global technology company, is working with IBM to launch a new solution for the governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI.
This partnership was announced today at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos. It aims to improve e&’s AI governance to ensure that it follows the rules, maintains good practices, and acts ethically as it expands its use of AI technology.
The new solution will use IBM’s watsonx.governance platform, which specializes in AI and data management, along with IBM Consulting’s help in putting AI into practice. The goal is to help e& scale its AI use responsibly while keeping track of its benefits and meeting compliance standards about ethics and transparency.
This collaboration will also help e& address challenges like ensuring oversight of its AI systems, managing risks such as breaking the rules or facing ethical issues, and monitoring AI performance as it grows.
The new AI governance solution will include features like automated risk management, compliance checks, and real-time performance tracking. This will help e& recognize risks, identify biases, and meet regulatory standards at every stage of the AI process, from building to retiring AI models.
It will create a central system where e& can keep track of all its AI models, allowing full oversight. IBM watsonx.governance provides ongoing monitoring and offers immediate updates on how well AI models are performing, their risks, and compliance measures. This helps e& spot issues like bias early on so they can be corrected.
“As AI continues to transform industries, responsible governance is paramount. At e&, we are committed to leading by example and setting the global benchmark when it comes to establishing robust AI governance practices,” said Dena Almansoori, Group Chief AI and Data Officer at e&. “By adopting IBM watsonx.governance, we’re taking a decisive step forward in our AI journey. This collaboration ensures transparency, explainability and efficiency across our AI operations, raising the bar for AI governance in the industry.”
“IBM watsonx empowers organizations like e& to navigate the complexities of AI governance. By integrating automation, real-time monitoring, and centralized oversight, we are addressing key governance challenges and reducing risks associated with AI,” said Shukri Eid, General Manager, Gulf, Levant & Pakistan at IBM. “Strengthening our long-standing partnership with e&, this milestone serves as a catalyst for responsible AI innovation.”
