Atlassian Corporation has announced the appointment of Christian Smith to its Board of Directors effective January 1, 2025.
Christian Smith presently serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at Splunk, a prominent player in the fields of cybersecurity and observability.
With over 30 years of experience in enterprise solutions, Christian Smith has a proven track record in global sales and digital transformation, contributing significantly to the establishment and expansion of numerous cloud-based enterprises in various roles as founder, executive, and advisor.

At Cisco, Christian Smith leads Splunk’s worldwide commercial operations, which confine global sales, renewals, sales engineering, partnerships, and alliances. His leadership was pivotal in guiding the company’s growth from a perpetual licensing model to a recurring revenue framework, achieving sustained growth and enhanced profitability.
Christian Smith is also credited with creating and deploying the Unified Engagement Model, an innovative sales methodology focused on value-based selling and customer engagement.
Before the tenure at Splunk, Christian Smith was the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Nintex, where he led the global go-to-market strategy, encompassing sales, channel programs, field marketing, customer success, and support. His extensive background includes senior positions at Oracle, ATG, and Daptiv. Currently, he is a board member at Feedzai.
Christian Smith holds a B.A. from the University of Washington. In conjunction with this announcement, Atlassian also revealed that Jay Parikh will step down from the Board of Directors, with his retirement effective December 31, 2024. Jay Parikh, an ex-VP at Meta and Head of Engineering and Infrastructure, has been a member of Atlassian’s Board since July 2013.
