Taipei, November 6, 2025: Acer has announced a major leadership transition for its Pan America operations as longtime regional president Gregg Prendergast prepares to retire at the end of the year. From January 1, 2026, Acer will introduce a dual leadership structure by appointing Chris Chiang and Germano Couy as Co-Presidents for the Americas, marking a strategic shift to strengthen Acer’s growth and market presence across North and Latin America.
The appointment of two co-Presidents suggests Acer is placing greater emphasis on the Americas region, possibly to accelerate growth in both North and Latin America markets.
The co-Presidents will oversee both North America and Latin America, and will report to Jason Chen (Chairman & CEO of Acer).
Acer emphasised Gregg’s contributions, steering regional portfolio & channel strategy, broadening distribution and brand presence across the Americas, and helping make Acer one of the strongest Chromebook brands worldwide.
“We are very thankful for Gregg’s leadership and the positive impact he has made at Acer,” said Jason Chen, Chairman and CEO of Acer Inc. “He guided our business and sales strategy in the region, helping us reach more customers and strengthen our brand in the Americas. He also played an important role in making Acer one of the top Chromebook brands in the world.”
“I am grateful for the close collaboration among our teams and partners in the Americas,” said Gregg Prendergast, President, Acer Pan America Operations. “After two unforgettable decades with Acer, I am confident in leaving the regional operations in the strong hands of Chris and Germano.”
Chris Chiang is known for his leadership in product management and business strategy. He joined Acer in 2007. Since 2016, he has worked as Vice President of Product & Business Management for the Pan America region. He has launched new technology products, managed many products for Acer, and led teams from different countries in the Pan America region.
Germano Couy has 30 years of experience in sales, business development, and leadership in the technology industry across Latin America.
