Intel has disclosed its new computer processor series, the Intel Core Ultra series 3, which is named Panther Lake. This processor is expected to start shipping later this year.
Panther Lake is special because it is the first product made using Intel’s new 18A technology, which is the most advanced method of making computer chips in the United States.
Intel also previewed another processor, Xeon 6+ (code-named Clearwater Forest). This processor, designed for servers, is expected to be available in the first half of 2026.
Both Panther Lake and Clearwater Forest, along with other future products, are made using 18A technology. They are being produced at Intel’s new factory in Chandler, Arizona.
This is a major step for Intel as it works to strengthen American technology and create a strong supply chain for computer chips.
Intel’s CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, said, “We are starting an exciting new time in computing, thanks to big improvements in chip technology. These changes will influence the future for many years.”
He added that their new computing platforms and advanced manufacturing methods will help drive innovation and support Intel’s future growth.
The United States has always been an important place for Intel’s research and development, and the company is proud to continue this tradition as it expands its operations in the U.S. and brings new technology to the market.
The 18A technology is Intel’s latest effort to regain its position as a leader in making computer chips, especially for advanced uses. Producing these chips in the U.S. is key for Intel, as it wants to reduce its reliance on overseas factories.
As more technology focuses on things like AI and robotics, processors like Panther Lake need to handle more complex tasks by themselves rather than depending solely on the cloud. Panther Lake’s design and performance are aimed at meeting these new demands.
