Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have joined hands with Qualcomm to create the ‘TCS Innovation Lab’ in Bengaluru, India.

This lab will focus on working together to develop new technologies. TCS and Qualcomm will work on creating smart and efficient Edge AI solutions. These solutions will help industries enhance their systems and efficiency. The lab will focus on designing customised, low-cost solutions that can be used on smart devices to make processes easier for large companies.

The lab is located in Bengaluru. This lab is part of the Bringing Life to Things Network lab that focuses on the Internet of Things (IoT). It is equipped with advanced technology like 5G networks, which will allow the lab to develop solutions for various industries, including security, healthcare, smart buildings, and manufacturing.

The lab aims to quickly test and develop new Edge AI solutions that can adapt to the needs of different sectors.

Savi Soin, Sr. Vice President & President, Qualcomm India, said that this partnership with TCS is a significant step in creating practical Edge AI solutions for industries that are changing quickly. The TCS Innovation Lab will help combine advanced AI technology and real-world needs to find cost-effective and useful solutions for businesses wanting to grow and modernize.

Recently, TCS, working with Qualcomm, developed a smart system to detect defects in materials for a big car manufacturer. This system can quickly check live video feeds for any surface flaws on different materials, achieving high accuracy in real-time using an affordable Qualcomm device.
