Lenovo Group Limited has announced that Amit Midha has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Alat, and he will join twelve other directors from different parts of the world on Lenovo’s board.
Yuanqing Yang, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo, said, “We are happy to welcome Amit Midha to our Board. His extensive experience and leadership at Alat, which focuses on improving industries and digital advancements in Saudi Arabia, will be very helpful as we work on our global partnerships and growth in the region. His knowledge will support our goals in Saudi Arabia and help us provide smarter technology for everyone.”
Lenovo’s partnership with Alat is a crucial component of Lenovo’s strategy to expand its manufacturing operations globally.

This factory will produce millions of devices each year, starting operations by 2026. This partnership will also create jobs in the MEA region and help make it a center for innovation. Additionally, Lenovo plans to open a regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Amit Midha is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Alat, a company funded by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. He is working to make Saudi Arabia a major hub for manufacturing in electronics and advanced industries.
Before joining Alat in February 2023, Amit Midha worked at Dell, where he helped grow their business in Asia Pacific and Japan, overseeing a large operation in more than 40 countries. In his last role at Dell, he was President for Asia Pacific and Japan and also focused on digital city projects around the world. He was named CEO of the Year in Information Technology by Bloomberg in 2010.
Amit Midha has also been a non-executive director at GNG Electronics Ltd, which is listed on the National Stock Exchange of India, since November 2024.
