Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has successfully bought Juniper Networks. This purchase enables HPE to capture the growing AI and hybrid cloud market opportunity by creating an industry-leading cloud-native and AI-driven IT portfolio, including a full, modern networking stack.
With this acquisition, HPE has doubled the size of its networking business, enabling it to offer a wider range of networking products to its customers.
“Today marks a new beginning for HPE—we are now at the center of important changes in IT, where AI and networking come together,” said Antonio Neri, the president and CEO of HPE. “This deal allows HPE to provide customers with a modern network solution and a more diverse set of offerings in hybrid cloud, AI, and networking. It also helps us grow and reach more potential customers in new markets. We are excited to welcome the Juniper team to HPE.”
Rami Rahim, the former CEO of Juniper Networks, who will now lead the combined networking division of HPE, said, “HPE and Juniper have a special chance to change the networking industry right now. Together, we can offer customers and partners a secure network that is designed for AI.”
HPE initially announced the acquisition on January 9, 2024, and Juniper shareholders approved it on April 2, 2024. With the deal now completed, Juniper’s stock, which traded under the symbol “JNPR” on the New York Stock Exchange, will stop trading today and will no longer be available on the stock market.
