Amazon Web Services (AWS) has signed a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with the Fitch Group to help it improve its technology and leverage generative AI capabilities across Fitch’s global operations.
The agreement highlights the implementation of Amazon Q Developer, a tool that helps software developers work better and faster. This technology offers real-time code suggestions, helps with documentation, and provides support to fix problems during development. Fitch is also using another tool called Amazon Q Transform to update its older Java applications. This is part of a bigger plan to strengthen its technology and prepare for future advances in AI and machine learning.
Andrew Collyer, the Chief Information Officer at Fitch Group, stated, “Working with AWS, especially with Amazon Q Developer, has improved our software development process. We have roughly 20% more productivity among our teams, allowing us to deliver better services to our clients more quickly while still meeting necessary regulations.”
In addition, Fitch is partnering with AWS to improve its data streaming capabilities using Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK).
Collyer added, “Tools like Amazon Q Developer have helped us simplify our tech processes and work more efficiently while ensuring we meet the necessary compliance and security standards.” He also mentioned that MSK Replicator has played an important role in giving customers fast access to important data, greatly enhancing their data streaming capabilities on AWS.”
Scott Mullins, a managing director for AWS Financial Services, commented, “This new agreement is an important step in our long-standing relationship with Fitch Group. It supports Fitch’s goals of driving innovation, improving efficiency, and providing better value to its customers around the world.”
