Upstage has announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to drive co-sales and go-to-market efforts. While also improving its Solar language models. This effort aims to make advanced and affordable AI technology more accessible in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and the United States.
As part of this partnership, Amazon will make a minority investment in Upstage. Under this collaboration, Upstage will use AWS as its main cloud service provider to create and improve its future AI models. Upstage will take advantage of AWS’s advanced machine learning tools, like Amazon SageMaker and special chips called AWS Trainium and Inferentia, to enhance its large language model (LLM), Solar, and improve its AI document processing services.
Sung Kim, CEO and co-founder of Upstage, said, “Upstage and AWS have worked well together for years, and this agreement marks a new step in our shared goal to speed up AI innovation around the world. With AWS as our partner, we can reach more organizations in the public sector with secure and effective AI solutions.”
Together, Upstage and AWS aim to support governments and public agencies by offering high-quality AI solutions. They will work on shared sales strategies and marketing in the APAC region and the US.
Jon Jones, VP at AWS, said, “AWS is excited to help Upstage bring new innovations. With our fully-managed AI services and specialized chips, Upstage is using AWS to improve how public sector organizations use AI to work more efficiently while keeping data safe.”
