Tech Mahindra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The University of Texas at Dallas, an esteemed institution known for its strength in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity. The aim of this collaboration is to drive AI-led innovation, support skill development, and advance research.
As part of this initiative, Tech Mahindra will establish its first Makers Lab in, United States, Dallas. This lab will be at the forefront of innovation in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Generative AI (GenAI), Agentic AI, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, and Cognitive Networking. The lab is designed to actively involve undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, as well as academic researchers from top universities.
In this partnership, Tech Mahindra will offer real-world AI scenarios, datasets, and business challenges for academic research and student learning.
Together, Tech Mahindra and UT Dallas will co-create intellectual property, develop AI frameworks, and build tools that can be commercialized. UT Dallas will contribute with deep research expertise, faculty guidance, and robust research facilities. The first projects will focus on AI applications in the telecom sector, such as autonomous network management, predictive maintenance, advanced customer support, fraud and anomaly detection, automated service provisioning, and personalized customer experience systems.
The partnership will also examine how AI can be integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). While telecom is the starting point, the alliance aims to expand into other industries as new opportunities and needs arise.
