Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cisco Systems have jointly unveiled a new Center of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad focused on advancing autonomous enterprise operations, marking a significant expansion in their longstanding strategic collaboration. The initiative is intended to assist large enterprises in evolving beyond conventional automation toward self-governing, AI-driven operational models.
Situated at TCS’s Synergy Park campus in Hyderabad, the CoE is designed as an experience and experimentation hub where organisations can explore and adopt next-generation capabilities that shift IT operations from rule-based automation to context-aware, zero-touch processes. According to joint statements from the partners, the centre will leverage a blend of technologies from both companies to deliver tooling and frameworks for real-time observability, automated decision-making, and self-healing operations.
Technical Focus and Capabilities
The autonomous operations model outlined by TCS and Cisco emphasises an Agentic AI mesh architecture that integrates real-time behavioural sensing, conversational AI facilitation of workflows, and intelligent orchestration to support self-action and governance. Foundational technologies driving these capabilities include:
Cisco AppDynamics and Cisco Splunk for observability and insights.
TCS ignio™ and TCS Cognix™ for operational automation and contextual intelligence.
The CoE will adopt the TCS five-level Services Autonomy Model, a framework designed to help organisations evaluate and advance their autonomy maturity across IT and operational domains. Visiting enterprises will have opportunities to pilot contextualised use cases and industry-specific configurations tailored to their business processes.
Leadership Commentary
Both organisations emphasised the depth of their partnership, which predates the new initiative by more than two decades.
Tim Coogan, Senior Vice President, Global Partner Sales, Cisco, said, “By combining Cisco’s AI-driven technology with TCS’ deep industry expertise, we are empowering our mutual customers to accelerate their journey toward autonomous operations and achieve unprecedented business agility.”
V. Rajanna, President, Technology Software and Services, TCS said, “TCS and Cisco have a long history of over two decades in delivering innovation at scale, and we are pleased to expand this collaboration with the launch of the Center of Excellence for Autonomous Enterprise. The CoE will be a co-innovation platform for enterprises that will help them embrace autonomous IT operations with self-learning, self-action and self-governance capabilities. This hub will enable enterprises to accelerate their transition to Autonomous Operations through improved business agility and deliver measurable business impact.”
Organisations are increasingly prioritising solutions that reduce manual intervention and operational friction. This development aligns with escalating market demand for AI-enabled observability and self-healing frameworks, particularly among large enterprises grappling with the complexity of hybrid cloud environments and distributed application portfolios.
