Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, and VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) have come together to push the uptake of electric commercial vehicles in India. They will mainly focus on the new Eicher Pro X series of Small Commercial Vehicles.
Through this partnership, the two companies will collaborate to help truck and bus operators integrate electric vehicles into their fleets. Tata Power will use its wide network of EV chargers and its knowledge in providing customized charging solutions. VECV will share its expertise in energy efficiency, ensuring that electric trucks utilise energy efficiently for various purposes.
Tata Power has expanded its EV charging network called EZ Charge to over 150,000 home chargers and more than 5,500 public and fleet charging points. They also have over 1,200 charging points for electric buses across more than 630 cities and towns. In total, Tata Power EZ Charge has over 400,000 registered customers. These chargers are placed in convenient locations like highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential areas. This effort is helping to grow electric mobility in India significantly.
