Samsung has introduced the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD. This new storage device is designed with the latest PCIe 5.0 technology, which makes it fast and energy-efficient. It is best for gaming, creating content, and multitasking on devices like laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles.
The 9100 PRO SSD is fast, with reading and writing data at up to 14,800 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s, respectively. This is almost double the speed of the older model, the 990 PRO.
“With the launch of the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD, we’re proud to offer a ground-breaking storage solution that sets new standards in speed, power efficiency, and capacity. Designed for the next generation of gaming, content creation, and multitasking, the 9100 PRO’s PCIe 5.0 interface and innovative architecture deliver unmatched performance, enabling professionals and enthusiasts alike to push the limits of their devices. Whether it’s accelerating AI-driven workloads or enhancing the gaming experience, the 9100 PRO is built to keep up with the demands of tomorrow’s technology,” said Puneet Sethi, Vice President, Head of Enterprise & Display Business, Samsung India.
It also has excellent random read and write speeds, reaching up to 2,200,000 IOPS and 2,600,000 IOPS. This means it can handle multiple tasks smoothly, making it fantastic for creators working with AI and for gamers who want an exciting experience.
The 9100 PRO is built with better heat management, which helps it use 49% less power compared to older models. It has special heatsinks, one that is 8.8mm thick for the 1TB to 4TB versions, and a thicker 11.25mm heatsink for the 8TB version. This keeps the speed high without overheating. The new 8TB model is especially appealing as it offers a lot of storage space for games and professional tasks.
This SSD works well with many devices, making it easy for users to upgrade their systems. It also comes with Samsung’s Magician software, which helps optimize performance, transfer data easily, and protect your information.
The Samsung 9100 PRO SSD will be available in four sizes: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models will be released on March 18, 2025, and the 8TB model will come out later in the second half of 2025. The prices suggested by the manufacturer are INR 14999 for the 1TB version, INR 25499 for the 2TB, and INR 49999 for the 4TB.
