At COMPUTEX 2025, Qualcomm Technologies announced the partnership with Advantech to enhance AI for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This partnership makes Advantech a part of Qualcomm’s IoT ecosystem, which helps combine Qualcomm’s advanced technologies with Advantech’s tools for edge computing and AI at the edge. This means faster development of smart solutions for different industries.
Earlier this year, Qualcomm introduced the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ products, which provide strong AI performance and quick response times at the edge. This product opens up new opportunities for industries.
Through the partnership, Advantech will use Dragonwing technology in various products, such as embedded modules, smart panels, and AI cameras. They will also use the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ8 and IQ9 platforms for Edge AI systems and robotic controls.
Advantech aims to use these technologies to create powerful solutions for robotics, smart factories, healthcare, retail, and city infrastructure.
To help developers create new solutions, Qualcomm is working with Advantech to build tools for easy Edge AI development. They will combine Advantech’s experience in embedded markets with Qualcomm’s helpful platforms, like Edge Impulse and Foundries.io.
They will also use Advantech’s EdgeAI SDK to provide tools that require little to no coding, making it easier for developers to train and use AI models. This will help bring new intelligent edge solutions to market faster.
Nakul Duggal, a leader at Qualcomm, expressed excitement about working more closely with Advantech, a key player in IoT and embedded computing. He believes that combining Qualcomm’s leading AI and connectivity technologies with Advantech’s strong computing platforms will significantly advance AI at the edge. He mentioned that this partnership will help industries fully utilize the benefits of smart, autonomous systems.
